Everyone deserves a MacBook Air and a Ben & Jerry's ice cream booth.

THOUGHT: We spend so much time at work that we are defined by it. People need things to brag about from work to be happy, fulfilled and to want to continue working.

How many things are you proud of in your work life? I have noticed that many people don't have something unique about work that excites them and that they can brag about. Sometimes, though, I hear whispers of hilariousness and awesomeness.
  • Last week, Yelp brought in a petting zoo. (I heard from one of our employees whose husband had just borrowed a goat to bring it downstairs to meet his friends.)
  • My friend's startup gives everyone dual 30" monitors.
  • Restoration Hardware's sales people all proudly have brand new MacBook Airs
  • My brother's company has a real Starbucks machine.
  • Zynga has a full movie theater in their new office.
  • Zynga also has lunch and dinner catered every day.
  • Everyone has heard about what Google has...
  • Our company brought in a Ben and Jerry's booth, including an ice cream guy!
  • A few years ago, everyone at my brother's company got iPod Touch's.
So…. what can you brag about... what does your company truly give you? Compared to a company's burn rate, the cost of these items is miniscule.
Ideas: Tee-shirts, free food, parties, cool technology, technical classes, conferences.
